Woman 20 Is Shot And Killed After Gunfire Erupts At Omaha Party
A 20-year-old woman was killed and seven were injured during a shooting at a house party in in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Karly Wood was 'in the wrong place at the wrong time' when shots were fired after a fight broke out during the party in Omaha.
Seven others were also hit in the shooting and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Omaha police said.
They responded to a report of the shooting at 3347 Ames Avenue just after 4am on Sunday and found two people at the house with gunshot wounds.
The remaining six that were injured were taken to various hospitals in Omaha in private vehicles, police said.
Omaha police have said that the shooting was not 'random' but the intended target is not known.
Investigators spent Sunday searching the area around the house for evidence.

Karly Wood was identified as the person killed in the shooting by her older sister Autumn Wood, 24.
Wood was working as a waitress and saving up to buy her first home, her sister said in a statement to KETV7:
'Karly had something special, she was unapologetically her, with a heart of gold that could light up a room.
She was just 20 years old. Saving up to buy a home and start her own business.'
A GoFundMe was set up to raise money to cover the funeral expenses and has raised around $2,000 thus far.
The Omaha Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting, it said in a statement on Sunday.
Tips leading to the arrest of a suspect are eligible for a reward of up to $25,000.
